I started painting in January 2013 using the Bob Ross Wet-on-Wet technique for oils, learning from his Joy of Painting DVD set and weekly TV show. Recently I have also learned more simple oil techniques from watching Wilson Bickford's TV show. In 2016 I started painting with acrylics, learning from watching Jerry Yarnell and Roger Bansemer's TV shows and at a class in Mill City. Many paintings are "painting with Bob, Jerry, or Wilson" and some paintings are just from an idea visualized in my head. After losing our home in the Oregon wildfires that destroyed Detroit, Oregon in September, 2020 we relocated to Maui to start 2021. The lost paintings from Detroit are showcased in the Lost Paintings page just to give you an idea of what I can do. The other tabs are current works, including some small 'snippets'.
We have finally settled in our new condo in Maui and I have started painting again, especially following Jerry Yarnell and occasionally Patrick Ching. I still mostly use acrylic but have tried water miscible oils as well. I hope you enjoy some of the more tropical scenes. Most of the current paintings are for sale, typically between $50 and $90 plus shipping. Contact me using the Contact Me page if you are interested. Thanks for your support. Barbara
